The Social Clinic

Rating : 3/5

The social clinic is a part of a place called madness in the heart of Koregaon Park, Pune . The place has 3 different places on 3 floors with the Social Clinic located on the ground floor, Donkey's Arse located on the first floor and Superheroes which is for children on the top floor. The social clinic is based on the theme of a hospital where you have wheelchairs, hopital beds and a dentist's chair inside. With the staff dressed as ward boys and nurses and some of the alcohol being served in beakers that is the maximum they have gone to make it resemble a social clinic. There could be more creativity in the names of the dishes and the crockery used i feel to give it more of a hospital feel. I agree the owners had to tone it down as a clinic sometimes can be reminiscent of unwanted memories. Donkey's arse is more of a lounge with quirky furniture and statues all around. There are comedy shows held here. Superheroes was more of a daycare where you could leave your children for four hours and they have an area to play. The cost includes food for the children as well.

Donkey's Arse

We started our evening with cocktails ,the cocktails served to us were
Nashili Lambi Chai
Nahshili Lambi Chai
Beyond Your Expectation
The Last War
Sex in Havana
Pepper Mary
Full Charge
The Pepper Mary was my favorite among those cocktails, served in a very innovative way it is a vodka based drink with tomato sauce, tobasco and fresh pepper seeds along with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
The Nashili Lambi Chai was a very potent drink with  Vodka, Rum, Gin, Cointreau, Tequila, Orange Juice & Cranberry Juice, so i would advise you to try this if you are not driving home.
Full Charge was a whisky based cocktail with orange which i would recommend only if you have a palate for oranges.
Beyond your expectation had the following contents -Jim beam, Bourbon Whisky, Amaretto (almond flavour liquor) Egg White, Orange Bitter, Lime Juice and i would again only recommend this if you have a palate for oranges.
Now we were served the following mocktails
Green Drink- Cool Cucumber
Red Drink- Strawberry Surprise
Pink Drink- Passionate Kiss
out of which the green drink was my favorite as it had green apple. I honestly liked the mocktails more than the cocktails and would recommend them over the cocktails as the bartender has got the balance spot on as far as the mocktails are concerned.

Now coming to the food i thought the mushroom galauti was brilliantly done. It was perfect and soft and delicious. This is something i would recommend .
The other things served to us were Mix Veg Coriander, Chilly Garlic Potato , Chipotle Prawns, Tandoori Pomfret, Murg Malai Tikka and chilli five spice chicken.
This is where i was a little disappointed as our meal started brilliantly with the mushroom galauti but compared the rest of the dishes compared to that was a disappointment. The Pomfret was a little overdone for me but that was because of the way it was served as it keeps cooking if it is served that way. The chipotle prawns were nice though.
Coming to the main course we were served
 mad farmer pizza
Cottage Cheese Betook
Wild Mushroom Stuffed Chicken
Garlic Prawns
Mad Chefs Creation
Mutton rogan Josh
The cottage cheese Betook was the winner as far as the main course was concerned. Delicious and innovative.
Mutton Rogan Josh is nice too but it can be a little spicier. My palate is more accustomed to non vegetarian dishes but in this case the betook took the prize .
As far as desserts are concerned the chocolate brownie with ice cream was nicely done. The gulabjamun brulee was not consistent as we found sugar crystals and the spanish churos was very nicely done and my favorite amongst the lot.

The place has a lot of potential to become one of those bars where you go to relax , where it can infact become a social clinic treating and destressing people coupled with the ambience and music. The music though is on point and i wished it was a little louder. The interiors are nicely done and as far as the staff is concerned they are courteous , efficient and know what they're serving so the place gets brownie points as far as service is concerned.
Thank you to Carpe Diem for giving me the opportunity to try the place out.
